Maitland Private opened on 18th June 2001.

Maitland Private is the only private hospital between Newcastle and Taree. The nearest acute care public hospital is The Maitland Hospital, 10 minutes away in the city of Maitland.

Our hospital is a community hospital as well as a health care facility for Port Stephens and the Lower Hunter region.  We maintain a close liaison with other health agencies such as community Health Service and self-help groups.

The Surgical Ward, Medical Ward, High Dependency Unit, Rehabilitation Unit and our Post Natal Ward have a total of 60 beds for individual care and treatment.

Each of the rooms feature high quality décor and include an ensuite bathroom, direct phone and remote controlled television.

Our Surgical Ward - Maitland Private Hospital is committed to providing the highest standard of pre and post-operative care for patients undergoing surgery.

The High Dependency Unit in the Surgical Ward provides specific care for those patients who require close monitoring.

Maitland Private Hospital's Medical Ward incorporating the Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Units aims to provide a superior standard of nursing care fulfilling the physical, psychological and social needs of our patients, family and carers.
