Medical Advisory Committee

Our Medical Advisory Committee advises the hospital's CEO and represents the collective views of the accredited practitioners who practice at Maitland Private Hospital.

For Medical Professionals

Maitland Private Hospital has a Medical Advisory Board whose major functions are to:

  • Provide a means whereby members of the medical staff can participate in the policy making and planning processes of the hospital
  • Advise on appropriate clinical practices
  • Assist in identifying the health needs of the community and the appropriate services which may be required to meet these needs
  • Oversee the ethical and professional conduct of currently practising accredited medical practitioners at the hospital

Membership of the committee comprises:

  • Chief Executive Officer/Director of Nursing
  • Accredited medical practitioners representing at least four surgical specialties
  • Anaesthetist
  • General practitioners
  • Physicians
  • Rehabilitation specialist

The committee meets quarterly; members and the chairman are elected to the committee at the Annual General Meeting.
